About Kinesiology

Kinesiologists treat and prevent injuries and chronic diseases. Kinesiologists are experts in exercise and resistance training, and we use these tools to reduce your pain, increase your strength, and improve your overall health.

Once your pain has been addressed, Kinesiologists build on your rehabilitation by gently increasing your strength and function, while continuing to manage your pain and stiffness.

Physiotherapists diagnose and treat your injury as soon as it happens. Physiotherapists help reduce and control your pain.

All of these steps help you heal and reduce risk of re-injury.

Injuries, inactivity, and poor nutrition can worsen the pain, stiffness, weakness, and chronic conditions that you are struggling with.

Kinesiologists provide personalized training programs and nutritional coaching to restore and improve your function, strength, and overall health.

If you are injured or have a chronic health problem, Kinesiologists use exercise, strength training, and nutritional coaching to fix your condition.

Exercise and proper nutrition also helps treat and prevent many chronic health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

Consultations are an hour long. Together, we will review your medical history and request additional medical documentation if necessary.

Our Kinesiologists will also perform blood pressure readings, breathing screens, and detailed movement assessments; these help identify underlying roadblocks, and solutions, to your recovery.

We recommend you wear loose fitting clothing so you can move more freely. Often, clients will spend time on their backs, stomachs, knees, and standing positions during their movement assessments and training sessions.

Generally, you will see our Kinesiologists anywhere between 12-24 x 1-hour sessions. This will give you the right amount of time and coaching to safely and effectively learn to exercise on your own.

You will often see a Kinesiologist 2-3 times a week. This will provide you with enough frequency to learn how to exercise safely and effectively, without overdoing it. Sessions are spaced through the week to allow for optimal recovery between sessions.

Yes. If you have been injured in a car accident, Section B Accident Benefits will cover Kinesiology.

The first session will teach you how to relax and manage muscle-related pain on your own. Following sessions will use corrective exercises to further address stiff or restricted joints, muscles, and movements.

Full body strength training will soon follow, with particular focus on weak/injured regions found during your assessment. Each session builds upon the previous session, allowing for slow and steady progress, so you don’t overdue it.

Our Kinesiologists suggest self-massage techniques to manage stiffness and pain. We will also encourage you to perform key corrective exercises meant to further address stiff muscles and joints. We also have our own exercise library on our website to help you along.
